Pro-grade window film for Los Angeles shops.
The single largest install market in the country. Year-round work across daily-drivers, exotic / luxury PPF, fleet conversions, and architectural flat-glass.
Glacier Manufacturing ships nano-ceramic window film, paint protection film (PPF), and installation tools to Los Angeles, California direct from its Las Vegas facility. Trade pricing is available to Los Angeles tint shops, PPF installers, paint and body shops, detailers, and contractors — reviewed within one business day at glaciermfg.com/trade. California tint law permits up to 70% VLT on front side windows, Any on back side windows, and Any on the rear window for sedans and wagons. Strict reflectivity limits
The city line runs from the San Pedro container terminals to the Valley floor.
The Port of Los Angeles works the west side of San Pedro Bay, at Wilmington and San Pedro, both inside the city by way of the harbor shoestring. Freight leaves on the 110 and along the Alameda Corridor rail line into the downtown yards. Fleet glass off that kind of equipment — drayage tractors, box trucks, yard tractors — is a different cutting job before it is a different install, so take the lite dimensions off the units in front of you before you commit to a roll width.
The Santa Monica Mountains cut the city in two. On the ocean side of that divide — Venice, Mar Vista, Westchester — marine air moderates the load. North of the crest the San Fernando Valley floor runs hotter and drier, and the 101 and the 405 cross between the two at the Cahuenga and Sepulveda passes. Same city, two sun-load profiles. Bel-Air and Brentwood are hillside residential streets inside that same city line, and paint protection film is a third order profile again.
The flat-glass map runs on its own logic. Bunker Hill and Century City are tower envelopes; the Melrose District, Westwood Village and Abbot Kinney are storefront runs. What decides those quotes is the glazing, not the address — curtain wall or punched openings, and whether the unit is an insulated glass unit whose warranty excludes applied film. Harbor fleet, hillside paint protection and downtown flat glass are three different order profiles; quote them as three different lines of work.

Lifetime warranty, direct claims
Every Glacier-manufactured automotive film carries a lifetime warranty registered to your shop. When a claim comes up, Los Angeles shops call us — not a regional distributor who calls the factory.

- Does Glacier ship window film to Los Angeles, California?
- Yes. The full ceramic window film, PPF, security film, installation tools, and shop equipment catalog ships from our Las Vegas, NV facility to Los Angeles and the surrounding region. Most in-stock orders leave the same business day.
- Can a Los Angeles tint shop open a wholesale account?
- Yes. Los Angeles tint shops, PPF installers, paint and body shops, detailers, and contractors can apply for a Glacier trade account at /trade. Most applications are reviewed within one business day.
- What window film does Glacier manufacture?
- Nano-ceramic only — automotive and architectural. Non-metallic (no signal interference), color-stable (no purple shift), engineered to compete with top-tier ceramic on TSER and IRR while priced closer to mid-tier carbon.
- Does Los Angeles follow California state tint laws?
- Yes. VLT limits, AS-1 line rules, reflectivity caps, and medical exemption procedure are set at the state level. Los Angeles shops follow the same regulations as the rest of California.
- Does Glacier carry PPF for Los Angeles?
- Yes. Self-healing TPU paint protection film in clear/gloss and satin finishes, 6–8 mil base, 10-year warranty. Stocked in Las Vegas and shipped alongside window film and shop equipment on a single trade account.
- What's the warranty on Glacier window film?
- Lifetime against bubbling, peeling, color shift, and adhesive failure on Glacier-manufactured automotive film. 10–15 years on architectural film. PPF: 10 years. Claims go direct to Glacier — no regional distributor in between.
- How should a Los Angeles harbor account change how I size roll width?
- Work coming out of the Wilmington and San Pedro terminals is fleet equipment — drayage tractors, box trucks, yard tractors — not sedans, so take the lite dimensions off the units in front of you rather than assuming passenger glass. Size roll width to the largest flat lite you expect to cut, or you will seam panes that did not need a seam. Glacier sells film on the roll, so the shop cuts its own kits in-house on a plotter.
- Is a Bunker Hill tower envelope quoted like a Westwood Village storefront?
- No. The two sit on different specs. On a tower envelope the scope is solar control — heat rejection and glare — plus whether the unit is an insulated glass unit whose warranty excludes applied film, which is a question for the building's glazing documents. Ground-floor retail glass puts safety and security gauges in scope instead, and there the decision is daylight application versus anchoring the film edge to the frame. Daylight-applied film holds fragments together; the pane can still leave the frame.
