Each level engineered for a different job. All manufactured by Glacier.

Built different

Why shops pick Glacier security film.

01

Holds glass on impact

On impact, glass breakage still happens — the film bonds the broken glass into a single sheet held in the window frame, slowing entry and keeping flying glass away from people inside.

02

Code-rated options

ANSI Z97.1 / CPSC 16 CFR 1201 safety glazing standards.

03

Anti-graffiti sacrificial

Sacrificial film takes the tag and peels off without damaging the glass.

04

Optically clear

Security construction without the dark, plastic look of traditional safety glazing.

05

Blocks 99% of UV rays

UV exposure through untreated glass is a real skin-cancer risk factor. The clear polyester construction blocks it without darkening the glass or changing how the building looks.

FAQ

Common questions.

What's the difference between safety film and security film?+
Safety film keeps shattered glass together to protect people inside (think accidents or impact). Security film is heavier-gauge construction designed to slow forced entry and smash-and-grab attempts.
Does Glacier security film stop bullets?+
No. Security film is rated for impact and forced-entry delay — not ballistics. Bullet-resistant glazing is a separate category.
Will security film make windows look dark or plastic-like?+
No. Glacier safety and security films are optically clear. Solar-control variants are available if both heat rejection and security are needed.
Does security film block UV rays?+
Yes. The polyester construction blocks 99% of UV rays regardless of tint, including clear constructions. UV exposure through untreated glass is a known skin-cancer risk factor, so this matters even on installs where the client only cares about safety or forced-entry delay.
